  • 1¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions To Bake

Step 1 – Set oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and place parchment paper on baking sheets.

Step 2 – Beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until they become light and fluffy.

Step 3 – Add the egg and vanilla essence and beat.

Step 4 – Mix the baking soda, flour, and salt in a separate basin.

Step 5 – Mixing until just incorporated, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ones.

Step 6 – Add the chocolate chunks and stir.

Step 7 – Leaving room between each cookie, drop a rounded spoonful of dough onto the baking sheets that have been prepared.

Step 8 – Bake for ten to twelve minutes, or until the edges are browned.

Step 9 – After a few minutes of cooling on the baking sheets, move them to a wire rack to finish cooling.

*Another option to bake – Slightly Chewier (Adding a bit of molasses)

  • 12 tablespoons (1.5 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons molasses (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions To Bake – Same as above

Note on Brown Sugar Substitute: Although brown sugar is not necessary for these recipes, you may add a few tablespoons of molasses to the wet ingredients to give them a hint of flavor.

There you have it, then! A quick and easy recipe for chocolate chip cookies that taste great without having any brown sugar. The cookie is somewhat crispier and has a clean sweetness from the lack of brown sugar, which brings out the flavor of the chocolate chips. Try it out for yourself; I guarantee you won’t even notice the absence of brown sugar.
